Here's what you need to know about me:

I out-kicked my coverage when it comes to my smart, beautiful wife, Katie. Paraphrasing famed former Kansas City Star Sports Columnist Joe Posnanski (in a story he told about former MLB pitcher Dan Quisenberry), I've found a woman who's 100 times smarter than me; I'm just using every day trying to catch up.

Above all else, I'm a proud daddy to our boy, Sawyer, and our daughter, Austen. One day, I'll explain my bizarre path to them and hope they don't think I'm crazy. Fat chance, right?

Professionally, I've spent the majority of my working life in media, mostly at newspapers. I've been fortunate enough to tell some great stories and document some amazing moments. And then there was the book.

"The Beach Ball Classic: Premier High School Hoops on the Grand Strand" released in December of 2016. It was a dream of mine to do a project of that magnitude, and when History Press and Arcadia Publishing approaced me about it, I couldn't say yes fast enough. After 10 months of research, interviews, writing, more research, more writing and then a whole bunch of editing, the final product came out to strong reviews from media and basketball fanatics around the area and beyond.

Outside of that, a recent move to Texas and then back to Myrtle Beach has me excited about some long-term possibilities. As for what's next? Well, that's an ever-evolving process that I'm thoroughly enjoying.
